Preserving our History... Rita Nani torch bearer

From Rita Nani

Dear Natu

Sadly you missed SANA Badabapa’s version  of his father who preserved the tattered diaries and books with great care burning mid night oil using chemicals from sugar factory lab.

In 2004 I started beating the words into computer and typed the entire version. 2011 as as we shifted to Odisha my first attempt was to compile all ma’s stories poems plays into a book form and 300 copies came out and was distributed in the family circle.

Next was jejebapa’s job. Lot of the documents had to be authenticated so lots of research. I did not want anyone to come up and label charges of falsehood as it was not a work of imagination.

Frequent trips to libraries and meetings with dada and  verifications.
As an adoring grand daughter I have paid my humble homage to this giant of humanity.

Henceforth you youngsters take up the journey ahead.

Rita Nani's views....

Rita Nani's Knowledge Base

History from Rita Nani.....

Nishan
Grand jejebapa who was science graduate  also had written many Odia books for school children n Botany and Zoology. They are lucid with perfect drawings and so simplified. His collection of the file of various leaves collected from various forests of the world is with me.

I will be able to share once I go back to Canada. It is in a storage. The leaves are so well preserved. And tagged and named.

He was no Ordinary man.

He was an Encyclopaedia.

Except for those 2 diaries and 2 books and the file rest all I have given to Ananda dada before leaving India.
Book of Knowledge  volumes, Countries of the world, English classics  etc.

And for everybody’s info those were not bought from the streets of Chennai or calculate... they were leather bound authentic editions bought from  London of 1930s .. ore independence time. Those are treasure troves. Priceless collections.

They were shipped to Madras and with what difficulty they would have been transported to Parlakhimundi.. well preserved  and well maintained in wooden cupboards I leave all that to everyone ‘s imagination. πŸ“—πŸ“˜πŸ“™πŸ“š

Mitu tribue to MKCG

[11:30 AM, 4/26/2019] Mitu Padhi:

Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Deb , scion of the Gajapati Dynasty (1891-1974) was a benevolent king .The Gantayet Family of Paralakhemundi are directly indebted to this great king, as he had invited our granddad Shyama Sunder Gantayet, to tutor his children . The Maharaja besides giving remuneration , had also arranged the accommodation for the family of grand dad presently our ancestral home at Palace Street. On this day I salute the Maharaja whose life story has been a lesson to all of us .
